Our Mission
At A Forever Home Animal Rescue (AFHAR), our mission is to thoughtfully match each dog with a loving home that fits their personality, needs, and your unique lifestyle. We are dedicated to strengthening animal welfare through rescue, education, and advocacy while promoting responsible pet ownership and a culture of kindness and respect toward all animals.

What We Do
We provide a safe, nurturing haven for homeless dogs, offering them care, stability, and love until they find their forever families. AFHAR is proud to be a 100% no‑kill rescue, with euthanasia considered only in rare medical circumstances when quality of life is severely compromised. On average, we rescue 25 dogs each month from high‑kill shelters, stray situations, and owner surrenders. Every dog in our care is spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. We carefully address all medical concerns while also supporting each dog’s behavioral and socialization needs, giving them the best chance to thrive in a permanent home.

Who We Are
A Forever Home Animal Rescue is a compassionate no‑kill organization with over 20 years of experience rescuing, fostering, and placing animals into loving homes. Throughout the years, we have worked with dogs of many breeds and sizes. Due to current facility limitations, we are presently focusing on small dogs weighing 25 pounds or less, allowing us to provide the highest standard of individualized care.
Our goal is simple: to help you find a dog that truly belongs in your home and complements your lifestyle.

What is No Kill?

According to the Humane Society of the United States, approximately 2.7 million healthy and adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters each year, making shelter euthanasia the leading cause of death for these pets nationwide. The No Kill philosophy is a humane model in which euthanasia is used only for animals who are dangerously aggressive or suffering from untreatable medical conditions. AFHAR is fully committed to this approach and works tirelessly to help build a no-kill community and nation. The most successful no-kill communities strive for a save rate of 90% or higher, and at AFHAR we are proud to maintain a 99% save rate. In our care, every animal matters—regardless of age, disability, injury, or past trauma—because we believe all animals are worthy of compassion, capable of finding loving homes, and deserving of a second chance. This lifesaving work also underscores the importance of preventing overbreeding and educating the public about responsible pet ownership, especially as many puppies sold in pet stores come from inhumane puppy mills.
