We Are Hiring a Part-Time Kennel Technician

Do you have a passion for dogs and a strong work ethic? We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Kennel Technician to help care for the dogs in our rescue program.

Position Details

16-18 hours per week
Flexible shifts:
8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Weekend availability required
Paid position
Compensation based on experience

Important: Read Before Applying: Working in animal rescue is incredibly rewarding, but it is not easy. This is not a job where you spend the day relaxing and playing with dogs. Rescue work is physically demanding, emotionally challenging, and fast-paced. Kennel technicians are expected to stay productive throughout their entire shift while ensuring our dogs receive excellent care and our facility remains clean and safe. We are seeking individuals who understand the realities of animal rescue and are willing to work hard to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs.

Responsibilities

Cleaning and disinfecting kennels and dog housing areas
Cleaning and maintaining dog play yards and common areas
Feeding and watering dogs
Walking and exercising dogs
Administering medications as directed
Monitoring the health and well-being of dogs
Interacting with potential adopters and answering questions about available dogs
Completing adoption and rescue-related paperwork
Assisting with miscellaneous rescue duties as needed

Qualifications

Genuine passion for dogs and animal welfare
Strong time management and communication skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Dependable, responsible, and self-motivated
Ability to lift and perform light to medium physical labor
Comfortable working in a busy, high-stress environment

Meet Emma!

Meet Emma, a gentle 15-year-old Chihuahua weighing just 9 pounds who is looking for a loving and peaceful Forever Home. Emma came to us after the heartbreaking loss of her owner, and she is now ready to find a new family to shower with her sweet and affectionate nature. This lovely senior girl is housetrained and gets along well with other dogs, but does not like cats. She has not been tested with children. Emma truly enjoys human attention and will happily soak up all the love you have to give. She also has a soft spot for stuffed toys, which add a little extra joy to her day.

Emma’s adoption donation is $250, which includes her vaccinations and microchip—she is already spayed—and she is heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention to keep her healthy and happy. Emma does have a heart condition, and is on daily medication. Emma would love nothing more than a warm lap and a caring heart to call her own. 🐾
